How to set fixed start and end dates of a membership ?

You can force a start date and an end date on a membership tariff, and decide when it starts and finishes. This can be adapted in the case of a membership following a school year for example.

Points of attention

  • If you configure a date to date fixed-term membership, you can set the membership start and end dates.
  • If you configure a prorated fixed-term membership, you can set the membership end date.
  • If you configure a prorated or date to date open-ended membership, you cannot set the start/end  dates nor the end date.

In the case of a membership for which you set the start and end dates :

  • You cannot change the start date when you select the price at the sale.
  • When you terminate a membership, you cannot postpone the commitment date or make goodwill gestures to extend the memberhip duration.
  • Shifting the start date will not be possible.
  • If a membership option has a different commitment duration and can postpone the related commitment end date so this option will not be offered with the membership at the sale.
  • The end date set in the catalogue is inclusive, so the membership end date in the member file will be one day after the date set in the catalogue.
  • If you sell a direct debit membership with the start and end dates set AFTER the start date, you will have to think of making the automatic renewal turn manually.

In the case of a membership for which the end date is set:

  • If you have chosen a prorated membership for which you wish to set the end dates, you can change the start date.
  • If you set the end date only, you can shift the membership start date. This will shift the end date too even if you have set it.
  • If you set the end date only, when you make a suspension, you can choose to shift the end date too.
