Several scenarios may lead to the creation of a credit note, for instance the regularization after an error or a goodwill gesture.
This article explains how to 'create a credit note' from an existing invoice.
To create a credit note, follow these steps :
STEP 1 : GO TO FINANCIAL IN THE MEMBER FILE
Go to financial in the member file of the member concerned, and show 'All the operations'.
STEP 2 : FIND THE INVOICE FROM WHICH THE CREDIT NOTE WILL BE CREATED
Find the invoice from which the credit note can be created.
Here, it's an invoice with a £20 amount.
STEP 3 : FROM THE THREE DOTS, CREATE THE CREDIT NOTE
On the selected invoice, click on the three dots and select 'Create a credit note'.
STEP 4 : INPUT THE AMOUNT OF THE CREDIT NOTE AND VALIDATE
After selecting 'Create a credit note', a window opens with the amount of the invoice. Inform about the amount of the credit note. Here, the amount of the invoice is £20, I input the amount of the credit note and click on 'Validate'.
STEP 5 : CHECK THE ACTION
After validating, show 'Current operations' and 'Credit notes' in the 'Search' field. You will see that the credit note is generated and is 'To use'. The client can use this credit note in a future purchase or ask for a refund.
